As part of the Discover Your Watershed program at Clean Nova Scotia (CNS), CNS and the Sackville Rivers Association (SRA) are holding a tree planting event on Saturday October 20th, 2012.

The Discover Your Watershed program has been developed to promote and enhance the stewardship of Nova Scotian watersheds and community tree planting is an important component to achieving this goal.

Planting will occur in the Walkers Pit area of the Sackville River in addition to the SRA’s previously completed stream restoration work in this once functioning gravel mine.
All interested participants are asked to meet at the SRA office @ 9:00 am which is located at 45 Connolly Road (Sackville Heights Community Centre) in Sackville before departing to the planting location .

Tree planting will run from 9:30 am-12:00 pm, refreshments will be provided. Tools and gloves will also be provided but participants should bring outdoor clothing and good footwear.
